Our Services

Whether you're just getting started or already seeking funding, we can support you at any stage.

Our approach is designed to provide structured but flexible support at all key stages of a regional development project or organisational journey. Our support falls into five interconnected service streams, which reflect our value chain:

What we do

To address projects in each stage of our value chain, we offer a range of services that utilise our team’s broad experience in Regional and Economic Development

Identify need

  • Community engagement and documentation of priorities

  • Feasibility testing

  • Needs assessments and issue scoping

  • Research and evidence-buidling to support funding readiness

Not sure if your project is ready? We assess its viability, identify risks, and make sure your idea is scoped properly before you invest time and effort.

Strategy

  • Facilitated planning and strategy workshops with decision makers

  • Strategic plan refinements and funding alignment

  • Validate and test ideas and project positioning

  • Preparation of supporting documents for funding readiness

  • Project development

From concept to delivery framework, we support you to develop projects that are community-led, achievable, and ready for implementation or piloting.

Planning

  • Business case development

  • Policy design

  • Project scoping and sequencing

  • Feasibility studies and costings

  • Mapping project plans to future funding rounds

We write business cases that get funded. Our cases are practical, persuasive, and tailored to funding requirements - so your project stands out and succeeds.

Resourcing

We help you find the right funding - matching your project to local, state, federal, or philanthropic opportunities. We prepare strong, strategic applications with clear outcomes, realistic budgets, and language funders respond to.

  • Grant identification and vetting

  • Grant and budget proposal writing

  • Stakeholder and funder coordination

  • Drafting of attachments and support letters

  • Briefing, reports, and board communications

  • Support and advice for your staff

  • Grant opportunity horizon scanning

Delivery

  • Grant management, reporting and milestone tracking

  • Acquittal and compliance support

  • Quarterly engagement reporting

  • Advice on evolving program requirements

  • Referrals to partner providers (e.g. project management)

Funding secured? We handle the fine print: from contract requirements to milestone reports and variations - so you stay on track and compliant.

Engagement Options

Morris Piper delivers services in two primary ways: Fee for Service engagements and Retainer model. We aim to provide maximum flexibility, ensuring our support meets your needs, aligns with your strategic goals, and ultimately results in real, on-the-ground impact for your community.

Fee for Service engagements

This option suits organisations with fluctuating workflows or limited staff capacity or expertise to manage specific project or funding matters.

Morris Piper is often engaged on a project basis — for example, to prepare a specific grant application, undertake strategic research, or deliver feasibility or business case work.

M. Hinson, Chief Executive Officer, Urapuntja Health Service

“…their professionalism, grant writing expertise, and strategic support have directly contributed to our funding success and long-term sustainability.”

Retainer model

This approach provides ongoing access to our team and allows us to build a deeper, more strategic working relationship with you over time.

Our retainers are typically structured over a 12-month period and include a set number of days (value) per month dedicated to your organisation’s priorities. This ensures service continuity, consistency, and the ability to scale support as needed. Retainers can be adapted to suit changing needs and priorities as they evolve and are ideal for working on project(s) overtime as opposed to ‘sprints’ ahead of a particular opportunity.

Importantly, if Morris Piper capacity begins to exhaust at any time, our retainer clients will always receive service at the expense of us taking on new one-off engagements. This provides additional certainty that we’ve got your back.

G. Hill, General Manager, Central Darling Shire Council Retainer Client

“Since working with Morris Piper we have managed to bring in millions of dollars in grant funding we would’ve missed out on. Our communities are benefiting with each successful submission.”
